About Us

Who We Are:

Bug Idea Innovations is a small airsoft gear and accessory business based out of Goleta California, US. All products sold are designed and manufactured in house. We produce custom 3D printed designs to meet specific needs in the airsoft community including solutions for gas blowback airsoft guns and milsim training. Bug Idea Innovations is currently a one man operation with support from outside friends and teammates.

 

Mission:

We are airsoft players first, engineers second, and businessmen third. Products we design focus on solving problems discovered through field experience and vetted through usage on the field. Multiple iterations and cycles of feedback precede a product ever being launched here. We would only present a product we believe solved the problem for us and is therefore worthy for a fellow airsoft player. Selling products is a way for us to make that process self sustaining while making our innovations more accessible to the community.

Our Name and Ethos

Bug Idea Innovations in name is a reference to how bugs are irresistibly drawn to light. Combine that with the light bulb for "bright idea" and you get something that is irresistibly drawn to bright ideas hence our motto: Give Into the Bright Ideas.

We wanted to captivate our culture of relentless problem solving in a fun way. We don't take ourselves super seriously but we take our work very seriously. It is that combination of humility and diligence that yields the most insight when it comes to getting out on the field and learning what works.

Business Origin

Bug Idea Innovations was founded by Chris Chan who has been playing airsoft for over a decade and is an engineer by trade. Chris is passionate about gas blowback airsoft guns, milsim, and training. Problems encountered on the field and a lack of available products inspired Chris to use his skills as an engineer to design his own solutions.

After a few years of making designs for his own gear and gaining some attention for them, he decided to figure out a way to start a business to sell them. With a desire to share his innovations and encouragement from the friends, Chris started Bug Idea Innovations in March of 2024.

Chris believes that good designs should be elegant and user friendly. Bug Idea Innovations is intended to be a business that enables players to simplify their gear on the field so they can focus on play and training.
